My favorite photos are closeups, especially flowers. Beauty is there that is unmatched.
I love journaling through photos and enjoy looking at the Daily Photos Community. Thanks to my son, Jeff, for encouraging me to buy my first Lumix a couple of years ago, my Canon Rebel this past year, and for sharing the journey with me. Oh, and now I'm wishing for the new Canon G11...

june 8, monday.... we have complained about the endless rain, but i must admit, the flowers are extraordinary this year.

march 5, thursday... e is for egg. since i grew up on a chicken farm where eggs were sold, they have always been an important part of my life. this is a tribute to my parents for their hard work to provide a wonderful life for me, a magical life in the country while growing up.

january 22, thursday... i know that there are lots of fine cameras out there, but for me there is none as sweet as this one - my first SLR. i know absolutely nothing about it yet, but what fun we're going to have together!!

june 18, thursday.... my office buddy, piper. like the 100mm macro that i borrowed so i ordered one yesterday!!

march 8, sunday... h is for hyacinths. one of my favorite flowers. the purple ones have such a nice color when they're first opening. and the fragrance is just lovely.

april 6, monday..... my rubber band ball is growing! for the past two and a half years, each day i've added the rubber band from the mail.

february 28, saturday.... last day of heart month

june 6, saturday.... last soccer game of the season. a beautiful, foggy morning and jackson scored two goals!!

january 20, tuesday... a cool berry. i dumped the frozen block of ice from holly's outside water bowl in the sink and used it as a background for this strawberry.

january 12, monday... today would have been my mom's 87th birthday. she left this world last october. i thought of what photo i could take that would be a fitting tribute to her on this day. i have many items in my home from her, things that evoke wonderful memories, things that she's made for me. but what i wanted to show in this photo is that she gave me the ability to love all things bright, beautiful, creative. it is from her that i gained knowledge and appreciation for art, all forms of it. this photo is of my latest project, a pair of fingerless gloves that i will use when out in the cold taking photos.

april 13, monday.... a beautiful bouquet of flowers - an easter gift (along with chocolates)!!

march 12, thursday.... l is for lamp. the first thing i do when i come in from work is turn on this lamp.

february 25, wednesday... after work i went to the park to walk. but i got sidetracked.

Alaska Cruise July 2009 : Thursday, July 2nd, flew to Vancouver and spent Friday there. Boarded Diamond Princess at noon on Saturday. Sunday was a day at sea. Monday in Ketchikan, Tuesday in Juneau, Wednesday in Skagway. Cruised Glacier Bay on Thursday and College Fjord on Friday. Spent the day Saturday in Anchorage, flying out that night. This trip has been a dream of mine for many years. It was truly a photographer's paradise!!

Memphis Sept 09 : Three quick days in Memphis. Arrived on Thursday, visitng the Metal Museum and spending time enjoying ribs and great live music on Beale Street. Friday started with a visit to Graceland, followed by a stop at Stax Studios. Then to see the ducks at the Peabody, dinner at Brazilian Steakhouse and an evening carriage ride. Saturday was Marshall/Memphis football game and a short drive to Tunica to Harrah's and dinner at Paula Deen Buffet.
